Located in Sawyer County Wisconsin, only 35 miles from Hayward, The Rustic Lodge is in the heart of vacationland. The Winter area offers more than 15 lakes and rivers to launch your boat and catch trophy musky, bass, walleye, and panfish. Join in on one of the many local fishing tournaments.

If you prefer to stay on dry land, take in the beauty of hundreds of thousands of acres of the Flambeau State and Chequamagon National forests. Enjoy hunting, hiking, fat-tire biking, horseback riding, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, ATV riding and snowmobiling. The Tuscobia State Trail is only a 1/2 mile from The Rustic Lodge and is accessible by ATV and snowmobile via Lake Winter Road.

The Tuscobia State Trail

The Tuscobia State Trail is a 74-mile abandoned railroad grade that  runs through Barron, Washburn, Sawyer and Price counties This is a multi-use trail:  hiking, ATV & UTV riding, snowmobiling, horseback riding, and biking .

Lake Winter is a 676 acre lake. It has a maximum depth of 22 feet. Visitors have access to the lake from public boat landings. Fish include Musky, Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass and Walleye
